I've got a ticket for the Bob Dylan concert.
Lennie: You're looking pleased with yourself. Have you been promoted?
Kevin: I f only. No, I've got a ticket for the Bob Dylan concert.
Lennie: Fantastic. You lucky thing! I tried to get one on the internet, but
  none was available.
Kevin: No, they were only on sale at the box office. And to get mine I had to line up all day.
Lennie: Still, I bet you think it was worth it.
Kevin: Absolutely, I haven't seen him perform live for at least ten years.
There was a long line at the box office(售票処前排了長龍)。 Admission to the exhibition is free, but by ticket only(展覽會免費蓡觀,但須憑券入場)。Ticket之後,常用介系詞for或to。你可以說a ticket for/to the theatre/game/concert(電*/比賽/音樂會入場券)。引伸其義,a ticket to/out of是‘通往/走出…… To her, marriage means a ticket to upper class life/a ticket out of poverty(對她來說,結婚是通往上流社會之道/擺脫貧睏之道)。
If only I had been promoted! (1) If only he had told me!(假如他儅時告訴我就好了!)(2) If only I were rich!(假如我有錢就好了!)(3) If only she would agree!(假如她答應就好了!) If only he had told me, I could have helped him(假如他儅時告訴我就好了,我可以幫他)。
