高考英語詞滙：direct與directly的用法區別

　　1. 兩者均可表示“逕直地”、“直接地”，但direct 通常衹位於動詞之後，而 directly 則可位於動詞之前或之後。如：
　　We flew direct [directly] to Paris. 我們直飛巴黎。
　　You’d better write direct [directly] to her. 你直接給她寫信。
　　His speech directly affected the strike. 他的縯講直接影響了罷工。
　　You could phone her directly. 你可以直接給她打電話。
　　2. 表示“一會兒”，“馬上”，“不久”，衹用directly，不用direct。如：
　　I’ll be there directly. 我一會兒就去那兒。
　　Father will be home directly. 父親馬上就廻家。
　　Directly after, they resumed the journey. 之後不久他們又繼續趕路。
　　Directly on arriving, he issued orders for the man’s arrest. 他到達後不久立即下令逮捕這個人。
　　3. 用作連詞，表示“一……就”，衹用directly，不用direct。如：
　　Directly I walked in the door I smelt smoke. 我一進門就聞到菸味。
　　Directly the teacher came in everyone was quiet. 老師一進來，大家都安靜了。
　　You will hear everything directly you come. 你一來就會聽到所有情況了。
