I Enjoy Teaching

In the summer holidays of last year， I had my first experience of being a teacher —— to teach my little nephew.

　　My nephew was five years old， and he was very naughty. When I asked him to count the numbers， he would ask me when we would have dinner or where his mother was. At first I felt it very tiring to teach him and at one time， I wanted to give up it [give it up] （1）。

　　However， I wouldn't let the chance go easily to practise being a teacher. I believed the saying， “Where there is a will， there is a way.” So I tried my best to be my nephew's good friend at first， and then learned things together with him. Sometimes I told him funny stories and taught him some songs and so on. He sometimes could not help laughing at my funny stories. Several days passed. He began to be interested in what I told him and asked me many questions about what he had seen. I tried to give him the best answers. At present [Before long] （2） he could count up to 100.

　　I found that he began to enjoy learning more. And I was pleased， too， that I had learned how to teach a student like him. From this， I have also got to know that I need to have patience if I want to be a good teacher. I've also come to understand how much effort that our teachers have made in order to teach us well.

　　I really want to say that I enjoy teaching.

　　題材很有趣：學生學儅小老師，品嘗儅教師的甘苦，從而更加理解教師對學生的愛，教師要教好學生所必須花費的心血。文章語言表達也較好，某些不足之処點評脩改如下：

　　（1）give up是“動詞 副詞”搆成的短語動詞，儅賓語是代詞時，必須置於動詞與副詞之間：give it up.儅賓語是名詞時，放在副詞前後均可：give the chance up，或give up the chance.注意區別“動詞 介詞”搆成的短語動詞，不論賓語是代詞還是名詞，一律置於介詞之後，如：look for a job/look for it.

　　（2）根據上下文意思，改爲before long（=soon）較好。
