英語中"兩"的表達法

英語中能夠表示'兩'的詞語很多，但其含義各不相同，實際用法各有千鞦。現將'兩' 的各個表達形式歸納如下：

（一） Both表示'倆；兩者；雙方'，有強調意義，要重讀。

Eg. Both sides of the paper were covered with writing. 這張紙兩麪都寫滿了字。

（二） two，twice表示數量、次數 '兩；再次'.

Eg. There is an interval of ten minutes between two classes.兩節課間隔十分鍾。

（三） couple， a couple of表示'一對；一雙；三兩個'.

Eg. The young couple get along quite happily.小兩口過得挺和美。

（四） double表示'雙倍的；雙重的；兩用的'.

Eg. We can't pay double of this amount.我們不能付雙倍的數目。

（五） few，a few 表示'幾個；兩三個；不多'.

Eg. I'd like to say a few words about it.對這事我想說兩句。

（六） either表示'兩者之中任何一個'，用於否定句、疑問句和肯定句。

Eg. I believe either method will work.我看兩種方法中的那一種都行。

（七） neither表示'兩者都不'.

Eg. In neither case can I agree. 兩種情形我都不能同意。

（八） bi-=twice，two； 表示'二；兩；雙；重'.
