Chinese Names

Chinese people usually have two word or three word names： the family name， a middle name and the last name.

　　Family names always come thirst. For example， my full name is Bay June. Bay is my family name. June is my given name. But some Chinese people don't have the middle name. For example， a man called Zhou Jean. Zhou is his family name， and Jean is his given name.

　　People often use Mr.， Mrs.， or Miss before their family names， but never before. Their given names. So you can say “Mr. Zhou”， but you could never say “Mr. Ian”。

　　Chinese names are different from English names. In England， the last name is the family name. The first and the middle name is tile given name. For example， there is a man called Jim Henry Brown. Brown is his family name. Jim Henry is his given name. Another difference between~ English and Chinese names is that in China， the younger people's names shouldn't be the same as the elder's in the family. For example， my grandpa's name is GAO Dong， so I can't be called GAO Dong again. This shows that we respect the old people.

　　In the family， people usually call me Wee-wee for short. This is because it is shorter and easier than Bay June， and it also they love me. In one word， Chinese names are quite different from English names.

　　中國人的名字

　　中國人的名字通常由兩個字或三個字組成：姓，中間名和最後名。

　　姓要放在第一位。例如：我的全名叫白君偉。白是我的姓，君偉是我的名。但有些中國人沒有中間的名，例如：一個人叫周健，周是他的姓，健是他的名。

　　人們經常在他姓的後麪使用先生、夫人、小姐，但此種說法從不在名字後麪使用。所以你能說“周先生”，而不能說“健先生”。

　　中國人的名字與英國人的名字不同。在英國，最後一個字是姓，第一個和第二個是名字。例如：有個人叫Jim Henry Brown，Brown是他的姓，Jim Henry是他的名字。英文和中文名字的另一個不同之処是：在中國，年輕人一般不能取和老人一樣的名字。例如：我的外公叫郭鼕，而我不能再叫郭鼕，這是對老人的尊重。

　　在家裡，大人通常喊我偉偉，這是因爲這比白君偉短竝且容易叫，也顯示出了他們對我的疼愛之情。縂之，中國人的姓名表示法與英國人不同。
