emerge，immerge

　　這一組詞的讀音完全相同。唸/i'm : :DN/，又都是動詞，但意義恰好相反。

　　Emerge的意思是“露出”、“出現（to come out or come into view），一般用以指從某物之後（下）露出；它亦可用作比喻意，指睏難、問題、事實等顯現出來。emerge的名詞是emergence.例：

　　After a spell of wet days，the sun emerges from behind the clouds today．
　　一連下了幾天雨，今天太陽從雲後出現了。

　　The diver emerged from the water at last．
　　潛水員終於浮出了水麪。

　　He has immerged the dress in the boiling dye for two hours．
　　他已把衣服浸入滾燙的染料中兩個小時了。

　　注：在現代英語中，immerse 比 immerge用得普遍，因爲後者是前者的古躰。
