【Do you like learning a foreign language?】

　　Do you like learning a foreign language?你喜歡學習外語嗎？
　　like doing 表示“喜歡乾…”，有關like 的詞組還有like to do （喜歡乾…），like sb.to do（希望某人乾…），do…like this（象這樣的乾…），look like（看起來象）。例如：

　　I like swimming.
　　我喜歡遊泳。

　　He likes to help others.
　　他喜歡幫助別人。

　　I like my students to study English well.
　　我希望我的學生學好英語。

　　Read the text like this.
　　這樣讀課文。

　　He looks like his father.
　　他看起來象他的父親。

　　【What does this word mean?】

　　What does this word mean?這個單詞是什麽意思？
　　mean 表示“意思是”“含義是”，可以指人的言論行爲，也可以詞語等。例如：

　　What do you mean by that?
　　你那是什麽意思？

　　What does this text mean?
　　這一課文是什麽意思？

　　【She came into class as usual.】

　　She came into class as usual.她象平常一樣進了教室。
　　As usual表示“照常”，在句中作狀語。例如：

　　I got up at six yesterday as usual.
　　我昨天象往常一樣六點鍾起牀。

　　You can do it as usual.
　　你可以象往常一樣乾。

　　【It was not as clean as usual.】

　　It was not as clean as usual.衛生不象往常一樣乾淨。
　　As …as 表示“同…一樣…”這是一個對等的比較句型，第一個as 後麪跟形容詞或副詞，第二個as 後麪跟比較的內容。例如：

　　This work is as hard as that one.
　　這個工作和那個工作一樣難。

　　Lucy runs as fast as Jim does.
　　露西和吉姆跑的一樣快。

　　English is not as difficult as maths.
　　英語沒有數學難。

　　【Everyone is at school today except Lin Tao.】

　　Everyone is at school today except Lin Tao.今天除過林濤大家都到校了。
　　Except 表示“除…之外”。例如：

　　We go to school everyday except Sunday.
　　除星期天外，我們天天上學。

　　I like all of them except this one.
　　除這一個外，賸下的我都喜歡。

　　【I prefer science.】

　　I prefer science.我喜歡科學。
　　Prefer 表示“喜歡”，prefer …to…表示“比較喜歡…而不喜歡…”，prefer 後麪的是較喜歡的內容。例如：

　　I prefer English.
　　我喜歡英語。

　　I prefer apples to pears.
　　我喜歡蘋果而不太喜歡梨。
