“排行榜”的正確英文繙譯

如何說“排行榜” 有這樣一句話：這本書在暢銷排行榜上名列前茅。

　　有人繙譯爲“This book ranks first on the ranking list of best-sellers.”。

　　其實“list of best-sellers”自身已經有序列的含義，“ranking”作爲形容詞意思是“高級別的”，用在這裡是累贅，與“rank first”重複，應該刪去。

　　因此這句話衹要繙譯爲“This book ranks first on the list of best-sellers.”就可以了。

　　“排行榜”可以繙譯成“list”，“暢銷書排行榜”則是“best-seller list, list of best-sellers, list of best-selling books”。

　　例如“The bookstore publishes a list of best sellers regularly.”（這家書店定期公佈暢銷書排行榜。）

　　“名列首位”可以用“to come first, to rank first, to be ranked first”來表示。

　　英語(Q吧)“chart”的意思是“銷售圖表”，“pop charts”是“流行歌曲排行榜”，“music charts”則是“流行音樂排行榜”。例如“Radio stations usually play songs that are top of the charts.”（廣播電台經常播放音樂流行榜上名列榜首的歌曲。）
