1.allow

(1) allow sb. to do sth.

Mother allowed me to go out last night.

Teachers don’t allow students to talk in class.

(2) allow doing

They don’t allow smoking.

No one allows smoking.

(3)be allowed to do sth.

Students should be allowed to make decisions for themselves.

I am allowed to play games every day.

No one was allowed to have a rest just now.

2.care about(關心) worry about(擔心) be serious about(在乎)

4. agree to, agree with

agree 可用作不及物動詞，也可用作及物動詞，漢譯都是“同意”，但實際含義不同。作不及物動詞時，agree to 爲蓡加者對提議表示同意，agree with 指兩個人或兩個人以上的人協調一致，持同一意見，agree on 是雙方商定。例如：
He agreed to my plan.
他同意了我的計劃。
Do you agree to this arrangement?
你同意這個安排嗎？

I agree with you.
我同意你的意見。
I agree with/to what you said.
我同意你說的。
Both sides agreed on these terms.
雙方都同意這些條件。
agree 作爲及物動詞，後可接從句、不定式，是“願意”、“答應”、“認爲”的意思。agree 是與 on 連用，後接動名詞，也是“願意”、“答應”、“認爲”的意思。例如：
We agreed that he would go.
我們答應他去。
I agreed to help you with the work.
我願意幫你做這一工作。
He agreed to come on Friday.
他答應星期五來。
He agreed on coming on Friday.

6.spend的用法

(1)spend可用於“spend time/money on 名詞”或“spend time/money （in） 動詞-ing短語”。

She spends half her money on clothes.她把一半錢花在衣服上。

She spends her whole life (in) looking after children.她的一生都用來照料孩子了。

(2)spend 可以表示“度過”

I should be allowed to spend time with my friends.

Where are you spending your vacation?
