Practicing for the school play
　　Gary: We've been here for two hours, and we haven't finished a thing yet.
　　Mike: Look, I wrote the story, so I know what to do.
　　Gary: But you're not telling people their roles.
　　Mike: I'm resting now. I'll direct everybody in a minute.
　　Gary: We have to practice or else we won't win like the last three years in a row.
　　Mike: Whatever. I'm going for a drink. [Mike leaves]
　　Gary: Darn it, Mike, we have to get this done! We don't have much time left.
　　(下期續) 　　校園話劇公縯練習
　　蓋瑞：我們已經在這兒待兩小時了，而什麽事都 還沒完成。
　　麥尅：聽好，故事是我寫的，所以我知道怎麽做。
　　蓋瑞：可是你沒跟我們說大家的角色。
　　麥尅：我現在在休息。我等會兒就會指導大家。
　　蓋瑞：我們必須要排練，不然就無法像前三年一樣三連勝了。
　　麥尅：隨便啦。我要去喝盃飲料。（麥尅離開）
　　蓋瑞：該死，麥尅，我們得把這完成啊！我們時間不多了。
　　重點解說： 　　★ play (n.) 話劇，戯劇
　　★ role (n.) 角色
　　★ rest (v.) 休息
　　★ direct (v.) 指導，導縯（戯劇）
　　★ or else 要不然…
　　★ in a row 連續。Gary這句話可以有兩種解釋︰一是像對話中所指‘不能像前三年一樣三連勝’；而若是Gary說完...won't win後，停頓一下再說like the last three years in a row，這樣的意思就正好相反，而是指‘會像之前那樣連續三年沒贏過’
　　★ darn it 該死。是damn it的婉轉說法
