餐飲業，同比增長如何譯？

別小瞧下麪一句話，什麽“餐飲業”、“住宿業”、“同比增長”等幾個具有中國特色的詞滙，全被一網打進。請看《中國日報》有關2006年上半年全國住宿業和餐飲業的相關報道：

Sales of China's lodging and catering sector reported a 15.3 percent year on year increase to 492.86 billion yuan in the first half of the year， according to the latest data from the Ministry of Commerce.

Catering（餐飲業）源於動詞“cater”（提供飲食及服務，承辦酒蓆）。現在酒店比較流行“承辦婚宴”，cater在此可大派用場，看例句：My brother is running a restaurant and catering for weddings and parties.（我哥哥經營的餐館可承辦婚宴和其它各類宴會酒蓆。）

Lodging（住宿業）源於動詞“lodge”（提供暫時性的住処）。日常生活中，lodge常用來指“借宿”或“出租”，如：The widow lodged college students in her home.（那個寡婦把家裡的房子出租給大學生居住了。）

Year on year increase可理解爲“與去年同期相比增長”，即漢語裡所說的“同比增長”，由此，報道中的這句話就可繙譯爲：據商務部最新統計，2006年上半年全國住宿與餐飲業零售額累計4928.6億元，同比增長15.3%.
