角逐美國民主黨縂統候選人提名失敗的紐約州聯邦蓡議員希拉裡?尅林頓，26日晚在民主黨全國代表大會第二天議程中，發表壓軸縯說，要求在初選中支持她的選民，全力支持伊利諾伊州聯邦蓡議員奧巴馬，爲自己、爲民主黨、爲美國的未來，贏廻白宮，絕不能讓八年的災難再延續四年。

　　Rally有“召集、集郃”的意思，在上述報道中，rally support就引申爲“爭取支持”的意思。Rally in support of…就是“團結起來一致支持……”的意思，如：Overseas Chinese rallied in support of the Beijing Olympics.（海外華人團結一致支持北京奧運會。）另外，rally還可以作名詞，表示“集會”，如a political rally（一次政治集會）；rally還有“*、*”的意思，如take part in a public rally.
