毫無可能Not a ghost of a chance

我的一個好朋友經常把“根本不可能”掛在嘴邊，我說點什麽她都說“根本不可能”，那種脫口而出的樣子真是氣死人。可是我也不示弱，拿李甯的廣告詞“一切皆有可能”來廻敬她。不過鬭嘴歸鬭嘴，“毫無可能”在英語中怎麽說呢？那就是“notass="superseo">a ghost of a chance”。

　　Ghost在這裡的意思不是“鬼”，它後麪接“of something”組成“ghost of something”，意思是“一點、一絲”。“Not a ghost of a chance”就是沒有一點機會，也就是毫無可能。“Ghost of”後麪還可以接其它詞，比如“a ghost of a smile”（一絲微笑）。
