解析漢語【79】進入俗世

愛用隱喻表現的朋友在信中提到兒子阿尊的婚事時說：John and Mary went into the world last week.以“進入俗世”喻結婚，原是昔日英國上流社會用的表現方式，莎翁在《皆大歡喜》（All's Well That Ends Well）中首用此語。同劇中還有一句提到結婚生活的名句：A young man married is a man that's marr'd. 據說源於十六世紀中葉流行的一句諺語：Marrying is marring. 結婚就是燬損。因此：年少結婚，自燬前程。

　　結婚的隱喻表現頗多，John and Mary got married又可以說成：John and Mary got hitched. 以馬套上車喻結婚。John and Mary jumped the hurdle, 以越過障礙喻結婚，說明要有勇氣尅服睏難乎？John and Mary tied the knot.以結繩喻結婚，很有意思。非正式的婚姻（姘居）以jumping over the broomstick作喻（to marry over the broomstick）, 騎上掃帚柄雙雙飛去也。騎在掃帚柄上飛來飛去的，不會是女巫（witch）和男巫（wizard）嗎？西洋傳說中的女巫一副醜老婆子模樣，據說會變成野兔，蟾蜍和狼，可怕。
