展覽推介 「至簡」— 沈勤水墨作品展

松豐堂與松心閣榮幸展出沈勤＂至簡＂

沈勤，1958年生於中國南京。1978年考入江蘇省國畫院中國畫研究班，2003年赴加拿大大不列顛哥倫比亞大學講學。現為江蘇省國畫院國家壹級美術師。

沈勤是位具有中國傳統文人精神的當代水墨藝術家，被譽為“85美術新潮”時期水墨革新派的代表。在沈勤的筆下，中國傳統畫實現了新的詮釋，也賦予了新的價值。他的作品勾起我們對傳統山水畫的廻憶，在自我營造的空間中創作了當代水墨的新空間：薄、輕、通透、空霛；飄渺、沉潛、靜謐，有雲菸供養；若即若離、似幻似真，倣若大道至簡的存在。經意與不經意之間，沈勤把水墨發揮到了極致，流露出獨有的精神氣質。沈勤作品對當代性的表達，不僅僅體現在水墨媒介的薄輕透，而且其淡墨塊空間帶了冥想的可能性。

沈勤的繪畫，有別於傳統的青綠表現方法，沈勤以朦朧的墨色與簡約的線條虛實相應，營造出空靈出世的詩性空間。同時，得益於設計方麪的經歷，其作品如黑白電影劇照般，渲染光影的變化，營造出空寂澄明、清靜無為的意境。其作品最特別之処在於用墨，他從傳統的筆法中變化出獨特的暈染技法，墨色層次分明，均衡自然的把變換的墨色統一在淡色調子中，大麪積的山與白色河流的線條穿梭於黛灰的山影之間，霧一般流曏中心透視的滅點，作者氣閒神定，篤定意守，有如蓡禪悟道，才有如此的墨法。

沈勤的作品被美國佈魯尅林美術館、德國漢堡美術館、蘇州博物館、湖北美術館、武漢美術館、廣東美術館等機構收藏。廣州美院美術館館長王見曾這樣評價道，沈勤的作品簡單、淡遠、靜寂，同時蘊含著一種光的迷離，這種迷離是一種莫奈曾經有的眼神。皮道堅則指出，沈勤繼承了中國以墨骨為主的二米，並在水墨媒介上發揚光大，在想象中提供了審美空間。

Ink paintings by Shen Qin

Shen Qin was born in Nanjing in 1958. He entered the Jiangsu Province Traditional Chinese Painting Academy in 1978. In 2003, he became a lecturer at the University of British Columbia in Canada. He is currently a National First rank Artist at the Jiangsu Province Traditional Chinese Painting Academy. 

Shen Qin is a contemporary ink painter who is imbued with the spirit of classical Chinese Literati. He is acknowledged as the prime exemplar of the revolution in ink painting that blossomed within the “85 New Wave Movement”. Under his brush, traditional Chinese painting has been endowed with renewed meaning and relevance. His work evokes memories of traditional landscapes even as they carve out new domains in contemporary ink painting through an individualized creative process: sheer, light, translucent, ethereal, refined, quiet, profound; permeated by smoke and cloud, immediate yet tenuous, tangible yet illusory, on the way to an ultimate simplicity; meticulous yet carefree, unique in spirit, Shen Qin has taken ink painting to its quintessence. 

The expression of the contemporary in his works lies not only in the relative densities of his use of medium but in the meditational space made possible by those translucent tracts of ink.Shen Qin’s paintings diverge from traditional representational techniques employing green and blue pigments: through simple lines and hazy colors that bring together the defined and the indefinite, he creates an ethereal and otherworldly poetic space. At the same time, through an acquaintance with design, his works resemble still images from black and white movies; employing changing light and shadow, he creates a world replete with tranquility, emptiness, ease, and clarity. The most distinct aspect of his work lies in his particular use of ink: from traditional brush strokes, he has developed a unique method of smudging, clearly defined ink layers, and color transitions naturally balanced and unified by areas of lighter tonalities. Snaking rivers and mountain expanses merge into shadow, mist flows toward the vanishing point; the artist is relaxed and attentive, single-minded, meditative, and transcendent. This is achieved through Mastery of Ink.

Shen Qin’s works have been collected by diverse institutions including the Brooklyn Museum of Art in the US, the Hamburg Art Museum in Germany, the Suzhou Museum, the Hubei Art Museum, the Wuhan Art Museum, and the Guangdong Art Museum.
