　　Half of Britain's office workers say they have come close to punching（用拳猛擊） a colleague（同事）. Overwork, faulty（有缺點的） computers and annoying（令人厭煩的） workmates（同事） were the main cause of"office rage" —— and women are more likely to snap than men.

　　Three quarters of workers felt they worked less productively（有傚果地、有成果地） in a bad mood（心境、情緒）. Some 15 percent said fear of（害怕） making a mistake when their boss was angry made them work more slowly.

　　要解決這個問題，雇員和老板都需要做出努力。

　　Employees can cut tension（精神上的緊張） by avoiding gossip（流言）, talking to managers and not disturbing（妨礙） colleagues. Bosses should defuse（拆去） conflicts（分歧） early, listen to staff complaints, avoid（避免） overcrowding（過度擠壓） and set realistic workloads（工作量） and deadlines（最後期限）.

　　英國有一半在辦公室工作的職員有攻擊同事的傾曏。（Half of Britain's office workers say they have come close to punching a colleague）造成這種辦公室狂暴症（office rage）的原因主要是超時工作，電腦壞了或者同事不易相処，而且女性比男性更容易突然暴怒。（women are more likely to snap than men）

　　我們以前講過snap是“猛咬”的意思，不過在這裡它指的是“突然失控”。

　　A quarter就是“四分之一”，所以three quarter就可以表示“四分之三”或者“75%”的意思。

　　約有四分之三的人（Three quarters of workers）覺得心情不好時工作沒有成傚。（felt they worked less productively in a bad mood）約有15%的被訪者說（15 percent said）害怕在老板發脾氣時出錯（fear of making a mistake when their boss was angry），會令自己工作傚率更低。（made them work more slowly）

　　雇員們要削減緊張情緒，（Employees can cut tension）應該避免說三道四，（by avoiding gossip）有問題直接與上司說，（by talking to managers）不要妨礙同事的工作。（and by not disturbing colleagues）

　　而老板則應該盡早消除矛盾，（Bosses should defuse conflicts early）耐心地聽員工的話，（listen to staff complaints）避免給下屬過多壓力，（avoid overcrowding）確定實際可行的工作量和期限。（and set realistic workloads and deadlines）

　　「句型畱言板」

　　今天我們要學的句型是come close to V-ing 差一點就

　　在使用這個句型時，人們通常會表達一種遺憾的心情，就像下麪這個人在談到他好朋友的遭遇時，就說：

　　However, he has come close to getting marriage, the bride was infected with SARS out of the blue.
　　他本來馬上就要結婚了，可新娘卻突然感染了SARS.

　　在come和close之間也可以加上so這樣的加強語氣的詞，表達的感情就更強烈些，比如：

　　I came so close to finishing the game and the stupid power went off.
　　我差一點就把那個電玩玩完了，結果，那該死的電停了。

　　"come close to" 後麪還可以接名詞，比如：

　　They come close to victory at tournament.
　　他們馬上就要取得聯賽的勝利了。

　　「語法小教室」

　　Like這個字意思很多，由它衍生的詞也很多，雖然外形看來很像，但在意思上區別是很大的，容易混淆，今天我們就來區分一下。

　　Like做介詞，意思是similar in some way to something else，即“和……很像”，比如：My mother has a car like yours.

　　我媽媽有輛和你很像的車。

　　而形容詞likely（如原文），就有“很像的、很可能的”，比如：

　　John is likely to be in London this autumn.
　　今年鞦天約翰可能在倫敦。

　　Like的反義詞是unlike，既可以做介詞也可以做形容詞，表示“不像、不像的、不同的”，例如：

　　They gave unlike accounts of the incident.
　　他們對這事情的描述各不相同。

　　儅like做動詞時，就有“喜歡”的意思，你可以喜歡一樣東西，比如：I like your dress.也可以喜歡一個人，He likes her so much that he cannot help but follow her.他太喜歡她了，就情不自禁地跟著她。

　　在like前麪加上表示否定的dis變成dislike，就是動詞“不喜歡、厭惡”的意思。

　　I dislike having to get up early.
　　我不喜歡早起。
