Family Fun

I have a lovely family in which I always feel happy. My parents and I have a lot of fun together in our spare time and we can even manage to turn tiresome housework into something interesting.One evening， after we had supper we were all tired and didn't want to wash the dishes. So I thought of a good idea. “I've got three pieces of paper here，” I said to my Dad and Mom. “I write down [I'll write down] （1） 'Yes’ on one piece of paper and 'No’ on the other two. The man to get [Whoever gets] （2） 'Yes’ will wash the dishes.” Because I didn't want to wash the dishes， I wrote three “Yes”。 And then I made faces， mother [winked at Mother， who] （3） understood me at once. Each of us got one piece of paper. I said to Father， “Dad， Mom and I will see what you've got. If you get 'Yes’， you'll wash the dishes.” Father knew my trick. Throwing his piece of paper away with a smile， he said to me， “I will see your piece first. If you get 'Yes’， you'll wash the dishes.” [What else could I do but taste the bitter drink which I myself had brewed （釀制）] （4）

　　文章雖短，但活潑清新，特別是文章最後以“自己洗碗”告終，更突出了“family fun”這一主題。文章中某些語言上的不足之処點評脩改如下：

　　（1）說話時還未乾的事情，用will較好，既表示將來，又有表示意願的含義。

　　（2）因“媽媽和我”均爲女性，用man不太好，故改之。

　　（3）make faces表示“裝怪臉”，一般表示厭惡、輕蔑、嘲笑、痛苦、無可奈何等意義。這裡是曏媽媽使眼色暗示，用wink at較好。

　　（4）加上最後這一句，使全文更加有趣。
