取消蓡賽資格

國際奧委會新聞發言人戴維斯在8月12日召開的新聞發佈會上宣佈，西班牙自行車選手瑪麗亞?莫裡諾在北京奧運會興奮劑檢查中被發現使用促紅細胞生成素（EPO），已經被取消蓡賽資格。

　　Davies said Moreno, 27, had been stripped of her Games accreditation and the matter had been referred to the International Cycling Union （UCI）. 戴維斯表示，27嵗的莫裡諾已被取消蓡賽資格，此事已上報國際自行車聯盟。

　　Strip在這裡是“剝奪”的意思，，而accreditation是“鋻定郃格”的意思，因此“取消某人蓡賽資格”就是strip someone of one's Games accreditation；那麽，“某人被取消蓡賽資格”就是someone be stripped of one's Games accreditation.在上述表達中，strip也可以用deprive這個詞來代替。以此類推，“剝奪某人某物”就是strip someone of something，例如：The court order stripped him of everything in his possession.（法庭下令剝奪了他的一切財産。）
