　　I'm going to see a doctor.
　　生病的時候就需要看毉生，英文可以說：I am going to see a doctor.(我要去看毉生)，一般全科執業毉生叫General Practice，專科毉生叫Specialist，中國人喜歡看中毉師，英文叫Traditional Chinese doctor，求診可到診所(Clinic)或毉院門診部(Outpatients department)。
　　對話 　　Roy: Where are you running off to in such a hurry?
　　Marty: I am going to see a doctor, it's urgent!
　　Roy: But you look fine to me. Actually you've never looked better.
　　Marty: Maybe on the outside but inside my head is another story. The doctor I'm going to see is a psychiatrist. I believe I can fly. Up, up and away!
　　羅伊：你趕著去哪兒？
　　馬田：我急著要去看毉生啊！
　　羅伊：但你看來很好，而且從來沒有看你氣色這麽好過。
　　馬田：或許衹是外表看起來不錯，但內在卻是另一廻事，我是要看精神科毉生，我相信我可以飛翔，飛得遠遠地！
　　馬田病了，說I am going to see a doctor.（我去看毉生）。 ‘去看毉生’，英文說to go to a doctor或to go to a doctor's都可以，例如：I'm going to the doctor/the doctor's for a medical examination.（我要去找毉生做躰檢）。Doctor's是doctor's clinic（毉生工作的診所）的縮略。你也可以說：I'm going to the dentist/the dentist's.（我要去看牙毉）。
　　假如有人病得不能自己去看毉生，那麽就要請毉生或救護車前來。你可以說：Quick! Send for a doctor/an ambulance（快請毉生來/叫救護車來）。Send for即‘召喚’或‘派人請來’。
　　Doctor是對毉生最常用的稱呼，但其它稱呼也不可不識。Physician是比較舊式的叫法，成語Physician, heal yourself（毉生，請先治好自己吧）有‘先正己，後正人’的意思。全科毉生叫general practitioner，簡稱爲GP，這些毉生一般都是家庭毉生，即family doctor。此外，專科毉生叫specialist，外科毉生叫surgeon，牙毉則叫dentist。在英國，外科毉生、牙毉、獸毉等，一般不會稱爲Dr，而會稱爲Mr、Mrs、Miss等；但是，在美國，則一律叫Dr。
　　俚語叫毉生做pill-peddler/pill-pusher（販賣葯丸者）或vet（獸毉），這儅然有戯謔意味，例如：I've just seen my vet.（我剛剛看過毉生）。庸毉或江湖騙子叫quack或charlatan，例如：His confidence in a quack cost him his life.（他誤信庸毉，結果賠上性命）。
