Be very careful about opening e-mail attachments.

　　Hugh：What's up?
　　Roger：A virus has got into my computer and corrupted all my files.
　　Hugh：Did you get an e-mail with an attachment and did you open the attachment?
　　Roger：How did you guess?
　　Hugh：Well, that's the main way viruses get in. You should be very careful about opening e-mail attachments, unless they're from someone you know.
　　羅傑：大災難！
　　休：發生了什麽事？
　　羅傑：有病毒闖入了我的計算機，把档案都破壞了。
　　休：你是不是收到含有附件的電郵，竝且開啓了附件？
　　羅傑：你是怎樣知道的？ 　　休：嗯，病毒入侵，大多是這種方式。開啓電郵附件必須十分小心，除非電郵是來自你認識的人。
　　E-mail或email是electronic mail的縮寫，而縮寫今天幾乎已取代了全寫，正如bra（乳罩）、pram（嬰兒車）取代了brassiere、perambulator一樣。
　　文法上，email和它的字根(root) mail也有了點分別。Mail（郵件）是不可數名詞(uncountable noun)，所以，‘我收到十份郵件’不可譯做I have received ten mails，衹可說ten mail items； ‘我展讀了所有郵件’不可譯做I opened all the mails，衹可說all the mail。Email既是不可數名詞，也是可數名詞(countable noun)，所以，你絕對可以說I have received ten emails、I opened all the email/emails等。Mail可解作‘郵政系統’，例如：I'll send it to you by/via air mail（我會用空郵寄給你）。Email也可以指電郵系統，介系詞同樣是用by或via，例如：Could you send it to me by/via email as an attachment?（請你用電郵以附件形式寄給我好嗎？）
　　今天，電郵比傳統郵件還要普遍。問人索取電郵地址，你可以說：Could I have your email address?（可以把你的電郵地址給我嗎？）或What is your email address?（你的電郵地址是什麽？）或What address do I email to?（我把電郵寄到哪裡呢？）作動詞，email和mail一樣，可以帶兩個受詞(object)，例如：(1) I emailed him the information (= I emailed the information to him我把資料用電郵寄給他）。(2) I emailed him about the matter（我致電郵給他談論這件事）。(考試大外語編輯整理)
