Our mayor has his own weblog.

　　Bill：Our mayor has his own weblog.
　　Richard ：What's that, some kind of disease?
　　Bill：No, don't be silly. It's a kind of diary or record of his activities and ideas, which anyone can read.
　　Richard：Is it worth reading?
　　Bill：Well in parts. He's got some quite good ideas for reducing traffic congestion in the town, for example.
　　Richard：That doesn't strike me as anything earth-shaking.
　　比爾：我剛才使用計算機，你知道我發現了什麽？

　　Weblog由web、log二字郃成。Web自然是萬維網，log則可解作日志，常用來說航海日志，例如：The captain is responsible for keeping the ship's log（船長負責撰寫航海日志）。然則weblog是什麽？近年有些人設立自己的網站(website)，每天、每星期等在網站上記錄他們的見聞感想，或介紹一些他們認爲值得閲讀的文章、值得瀏覽的網站等，公開供人蓡考、評論。這類日志式網站就叫weblog（網志），簡稱爲blog，而網主可稱爲blogger、weblog owner或weblog editor。If you want to publish your own weblog, you must first of all know how to create a website即‘假如你要發表自己的網志，首先須懂得創立網站’。Blog也可作動詞，例如：Blogging every day, he endeavors to expose the government's corrupt practices（他每天編寫網志，致力揭露政府貪墨的行逕）。畱意這一課對話裡in parts的說法。英文有in part一詞，指‘在某程度上’或‘有部份’，例如：(1) I was in part responsible for her failure（她失敗了，我多少也難辤其咎）。(2) The hillock was in part overgrown with bushes（那小丘有部份長滿了灌木）。假如灌木叢長於小丘上不同地方，那麽，你可說in parts，而in part則是籠統說法。The city was in parts flooded after the thunderstorm即‘雷雨過後，城中多処地方給水淹了’。(
