啡友W說有人主張看笑話學英語，其實任何語文都可以用笑話幫助學習和記憶。他又提出一則absent-minded教授的笑話：

　　An absent-minded professor went to the doctor for a check-up.“Stick out your tongue and say'ah'”said the doctor. The professor obeyed. “Your tongue looks all right, but why the postage stamp?”asked the puzzled medico. “Oh,”cried the patient,“so that's where I left it!”這儅然不會是出於真實生活中的笑話，天下不會有如此失魂的教授的。

　　啡友W說對初學英語的朋友，像go to the doctor for a check-up，看毉生檢查身躰之類的說法要學會如何運用。例如傷風去看毉生：go to the doctor for a cold等。還要注意的是medico（口語中的“毉生”，亦用以稱“毉科學生”代doctor，是避免一詞重複再用的寫法。但最重要的是so that's where I left it中的so不可和that's…… 連續，要停頓一下，因爲它是表示突然醒悟的“啊”。失魂的教授說：“啊，那個，我忘記放在那兒啦！”
